Do the books have to be from the American Corner?
ReplyDeleteNo, they do not have to be, but they must be in English. And there are many great books at the AC, so I suggest you look!
DeleteI don't have a question, but still I wanted to express my thanks to the creators of this blog, especcially Kyle and Madina. This is a great job to make such a good reading challenge. Because people would have interest to participate in it by reading books and by the way make themselves smarter and wiser. There are kids who don't like reading, but I wish perhaps they want to be winners of the challenge and for this they try to discover the pleasure of reading for themselves. Thats why thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Masud! It is engaged students like you who inspire me. I hope that you have a great time participating, and can encourage others, too! Enjoy the rest of Catching Fire and Mockingjay.

DeleteThank you, dear Kyle. I've a good message to you that I've already read the rest of Catching Fire this month. And took the best pleasure from reading this great book. Especcially I liked that at the second time Katniss got free from the Games. Now I am beginning to read Mockingjay. Can I write Catching Fire in this challenge? Because I have lots of good feelings and impressions about it.
DeleteYes, you may, since it includes all of June.
DeleteMasud, if you want to write more about Catching Fire, write it in a comment to this page: http://ackhujandreading.blogspot.com/2013/06/catching-fire-after-you-finish.html
DeleteI don't want you giving away what happens to the others in the group on the main page! So write something short in the "Book Report Form" and then write your longer thoughts as comments in the Catching Fire blog posts.
I want to take a moment and say a very big "thank you!" to Ms.Kyle and the creators of this challenge. Although I haven't met Kyle I'm pretty sure she's got a very big heart, because what she is doing right now is very important for the growing generation of ours. I'm a huge bookworm myself; I stay up late, almost every night reading the books I pick up at our local library. I encourage my sister to read English books as well. I used to stop by AC whenever I could. I remember it being closed once or twice I had stopped there which made me upset. Overall, thank you very much. I hope our students will develop the passion of reading and discovering. God bless.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind comments! I hope that other people learn to love to read as you do.
DeleteThe American Corner is open Monday-Friday from 9-5, except for closing for lunch from 12-1.
